Limits? good use and perspectives
A single indicator? even a synthetic one like the EVSI? is not enough to describe a complex socio-demographic reality? in health as in other areas. Public statistics offer a whole range of indicators to describe japan phone number library the health status of the population and? more broadly? the “quality of life” in all its dimensions. Health is only one determinant among others of life satisfaction and well-being? certainly important but of the same order as? for example? the nature of social ties or the material conditions of existence (Insee? 2024); all these determinants of well-being are also linked to each other? and interact in a complex way: the state of health can affect social ties? material a country with a thriving social networking site conditions can affect the state of health? and so on. Furthermore? to more precisely assess the progress made and define public action objectives towards which efforts can still be made? it is necessary to have more targeted indicators.
The fact remains that the EVSI is of interest
Thanks to its simplicity and the mobilization of the public statistical service for its implementation? to be measure every year and to allow monitoring over time with a time perspective of 20 years (figure 4) .
